Denneroll Traction User Guide

1. Patients should first be instructed by their chiropractor on the correct placement of the Denneroll.

2. The patient should place the Denneroll on the ground and position the neck roll where instructed. The patient lays flat on their back on the ground with their legs extended and arms by their sides. A natural stretch is created as the head tilts back towards the floor. The patient is encouraged to relax whilst lying on the Denneroll.

3. The Denneroll can be placed between C2-3 and T1-2 depending on the area to be addressed.

Upper Neck

Middle Neck

Lower Neck

Placement in the lower cervical and upper thoracic region allows the most traction from the weight of your head and neck. If the amount of traction is too uncomfortable a support (lower than the height of the Denneroll) can be used to reduce the traction. The support height can be controlled using a folded towel. This method can be applied to all areas of placement.

Least Traction

Less Traction

Most Traction

The traction can be gradually increased via less support on future occasions at the patients’ comfort tolerance levels. However, placement of the Denneroll without a support should not be seen as an aspired goal. It is important to realize that the traction is needed to create the stretching, but that is all that is required. A person may never need to use the Denneroll in the lower neck region without a (towel) support to achieve the desired stretch.

4. A time period of 3-5min is all that is required to develop a functional stretch effect. (Used incorrectly overstretching can occur)

5. Used correctly with comfortable traction, the safe stretching of the Denneroll can be applied daily. (In the evening is recommended)

6. Upon the end of your stretching session, it is advised to roll sideways off the product to remove it from behind your head. After removal, relax lying flat on the floor (on back) for 1 minute before returning to your normal activities.
